South Jackson is thrilled to announce auditions for the
46th Annual Peggy Burton’s South Jackson Goes Country Show!
This local variety show showcases country music at its finest! From soloists, to songwriters, to comedic skits, line dances, & more, this family friendly production is filled with laughter and a little something for everyone to enjoy!
Audition Dates:
Location – Annex at South Jackson Performing Arts Center
(This is a room near the back of the building by the Office)
Sunday – June 8th from 2pm-6pm
Monday – June 9th from 6pm-9pm
Virtual Auditions:
If you’d prefer to audition virtually, send your video audition links to SouthJacksonGoesCountry@gmail.com by end of day: Monday, June 9th.
Performance Dates:
Friday, August 8th – Warmup = 6:30pm & Act 1 = 7pm
Saturday, August 9th – Warmup = 6:30pm & Act 1 = 7pm
Sunday, August 10th – Warmup = 1:30pm & Act 1 = 2pm
How to Prepare:
Prepare 1-2 Country Songs (one MUST be upbeat).
NOTE: The songs you audition with will be the ones considered for inclusion in this year’s show.
Bring your own backup track. A CD Player, Bluetooth speaker, & piano will be provided for use.
Sections of our Show that we are Casting for at our 2025 Auditions:
-Warmup Show – This is the pre-show that gets our audience ready for a production of fun and laughter. Performers in this show generally perform to a karaoke track or play their own instruments for accompaniment. (This portion includes comedy, singing, songwriting, dancing, etc.) *NOTE: All Warmup Show Performers will need to send us a karaoke track MP3 once cast.
-Main Show (Acts 1 & 2) – This is the portion of our show where our singers perform with a live band. (This portion includes commercials, comedy, singing, dancing, etc.)
-Commercials – These are live 1-minute comedy skits that we sell to local sponsors and then perform as live commercials during each Main Show (Acts 1 & 2).
-Songwriters’ Segment – This is where we showcase local songwriters in a songwriters’ round during Act 2 of the Main Show.
-Opry Segment – This is where we showcase singers performing as classic country stars in Act 1 of the Main Show.
