How to Prepare:
1. Please prepare 30 seconds of a song in the style of the show
(Bring your own Karaoke Track – A Speaker will be provided)
2. Be prepared to read from the script
3. Be prepared to learn a short dance combination
The PLOT
“Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” follows the story of young Charlie Bucket as he wins a Golden Ticket to tour the mysterious chocolate factory of Willy Wonka.
Based on the novel by Roald Dahl, this musical features an original score composed by Marc Shaiman with lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Whitman and a book by David Greig. In addition to the new songs, the score pays homage to the Leslie Bricusse/Anthony Newley score from the 1971 film by including “Candy Man,” “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket,” “Oompa-Loompa Song,” and “Pure Imagination.”
